Did you know that if you run a creative business in Wales, you may be able to get funding to help up-skill your staff? As part of the Welsh Government’s Flexible Skills Programme, creative businesses can access funding for training opportunities for their employees.

The Welsh Government scheme has been designed to help companies address skills gaps and up-skill their staff. It’s hoped this will help create a stronger and more agile workforce across the creative sectors.

Eligible businesses can access up to £25,000 of match funding for staff to attend training courses needed to develop their skills. Training can be face-to-face or online and must be either accredited or a recognised industry standard.

Training can be focused on the following areas:

  • Craft production and postproduction
  • Use of new technology for your company and engineering for creative technologies
  • Marketing and branding for creative industries
  • Traditional and contemporary content creation training
  • Financial training
  • Legal business training for film, television, television production, games, animation and music
  • Creative industries research and development-related activities
  • Leadership and management
